Pull lamp from lens cap.

Insert new lamp in lens cap.
(4)
Reinstall lens cap (green lens cap in READY NAV and red lens cap in BAT annunciator).
(5)
Perform step 6 (Test MSU Lamp).
3. Relamp MSU Annunciators (Fig. 301, Sh. 2) (Airplanes with Litton INS)

A. Equipment and Materials
(1) Lamp - 28 volts, 40 ma - Aero Products, P/N 900446-1 or GE Type 334
B. Replace Lamp
(1) Grasp annunciator cap firmly between thumb and index finger and then pull out while moving cap from side to side and up and down until cap comes loose (Fig. 301, Sh. 2).
NOTE: The lamps come out with the annunciator cap.

Place thumbnail under flange of lamp base with index finger on opposite side, then pull firmly until lamp comes loose. Repeat procedure for remaining lamps.
(3)
Push new lamps into annunciator cap.
(4)
Ensure that annunciator cap is right way up, then push into MSU.
4. Relamp MSU Illuminated Panel

A. General
(1) Lamps providing illumination in this panel cannot be replaced. The panel assembly must be replaced.
B. Equipment and Materials
(1)
Fiber screwdriver-tipped tool for prying
(2)
Torque screwdriver - 0 to 5 inch-pound range, small bit
(3)
Illuminated Panel Assembly - Delco Electronics, P/N 7883748
C. Replace Illuminated Panel (Fig. 301)
(1)
Set the MAIN PANEL-OVHD control to the OFF position on the pilots' overhead panel P5.
(2)
Loosen two setscrews in mode selector switch knob and pull knob from shaft.
(3)
Unscrew both annunciator lens caps and remove.

(4) Loosen two cross-recessed captive fasteners and disengage coaxial connector (underneath + on panel) by prying illuminated panel and front panel apart.
CAUTION: USE FIBER SCREWDRIVER-TIPPED TOOL TO AVOID DAMAGE TO

PANELS.
(5)
Install replacement illuminated panel by pressing firmly on the
+ to engage connector and by tightening two captive fasteners. (Torque to 2.0-2.5 inch-pounds.)
(6)
Check that both lens caps have lamps installed and screw green lens cap into READY NAV annunciator and red lens cap into BAT annunciator
(7)
Install mode selector switch knob and tighten both setscrews.
(8)
Perform step 6 (Test MSU Lamp).
5. Relamp MSU Illuminated Panel (Fig. 301, Sh 2) (AIRPLANES WITH LITTON INS)
A. General
(1) Lamps providing illumination to this panel cannot be replaced. The panel assembly must be replaced.
B. Equipment and Materials
(1)
Torque screwdriver - 0 to 5 inch-pound range, small bit
(2)
Illuminated Panel Assembly - Aero Products, P/N 662803-01
C. Replace Illuminated Panel (Fig. 301, Sh. 2)
(1)
Set the MAIN PANEL-OVHD control to the OFF position on the pilots' overhead panel P5.
(2)
Loosen two setscrews in mode selector switch knob and pull knob from shaft.
(3)
Remove screw assemblies.
(4)
Carefully pull panel assembly away from MSU until edge lighting plug can be reached.
CAUTION: DO NOT JERK THE PANEL OR PULL AGAINST THE WIRES ATTACHED
_______ TO THE EDGE LIGHTING PLUG AS THE WIRES MAY BREAK OR PULL AWAY FROM INTERNAL CONNECTIONS, OR THE PLUGS OR PANEL ASSEMBLY MAY BE DAMAGED.
