(3) Test Navigation Unit and Control Display Unit interface.
(a)
If required, prepare for test as described in paragraph D.
(b)
Set mode selector switch on each MSU (mode selector unit on P5 panel) to STBY position.
(c)
Place each INS in LOOK routine by performing following on each control/display unit.

1) Set data selector to POS.
2) Press WY PT CHG key.
3) Enter 99 on data keys so FROM-TO displays 9 9.
4) Press CLEAR key.
5) Ensure that waypoint select thumbwheel is set at 0.
(d) On SN ALL, Check contents of memory location 2376 for each control display unit. 1) Set data selector to WAY PT. 2) Enter N2376 on data keys. 3) Press INSERT key. Check that 2376 appears in both data
displays. 4) Set data selector to DIS/TIME. Data display indicators now read contents of memory location 2376. 5) Check that contents of memory location 2376 is:
4663-0012 (before incorporation of SB 34-2081)
4663-0013 (after incorporation of SB 34-2081)
(e) On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT SN airplanes, Check contents of memory location 2776 for each control display unit.
1) Set data selector to WAY PT.
2) Enter N2776 on data keys.
3) Press INSERT key. Check that 2776 appears in both
displays.
4) Set data selector to DIS/TIME. Data display indicators
now read contents of memory location 2776.
5) Check that contents of memory location 2776 is:
4663 - 0014 for CIV - 31N Program
XA 1711 - 0005 for CIVA - 20 Program
XA 1711 - 0007 for CIVA - 22 Program
XA 1711 - 0011 for CIVA - 25 Program
XA 1711 - 0022 for CIVA - 26-2 Program
1711 - 0017 for CIVA - 28A Program
1711 - 0024 for CIVA - 28A-2 Program
1225 - 0015 for CIVA - 32C Program
XA (f) Check contents of memory location 30 for each control/display
XA unit. (Discrete word for ALIGN & STAB LOOPS CLOSED, NAV MODE
XA TAS ANALOG and STEERING).
XA NOTE: INS must be in ALIGN for at least 3 minutes.____
1) Set data selector to WAY PT.
2) Enter N30 on data keys.
3) Press INSERT key. Check that 0030 appears in both data
displays.

4) Set data selector to DIS/TIME. Check that contents of memory location 30 are X44X XXXX where X is any number.
(g) Check contents of memory location 26 for each control/display
XA unit. (Discrete word for external program pin connection). 1) Set data selector to WAY PT. 2) Enter N26 on data keys. 3) Press INSERT key. Check that 0026 appears in both data
displays. 4) Set data selector to DIS/TIME. Check that contents of memory location 26 are 46XX XXXX where X is any number.
(h)
Return each INS to normal by performing following on each control/display unit. 1) Set data selector to POS. 2) Press WY PT CHG key. 3) On airplanes with Delco CIVA-25, CIVA-28A, CIVA-28A-2 or
32C INS, enter 0 1 on INS CDU data keys so FROM-TO displays 0 1. 4) On airplanes with Delco CIVA-20 or CIV-31N INS, enter 1 2 on INS CDU data keys so FROM-TO displays 1 2. 5) Press INSERT key.
(i)
On each control/display and mode selector unit, check that there are no red, amber or green lamps illuminated.
(j)
Perform following sequence on each control/display unit.
1) Place data selector to POS and press and hold TEST switch. Check that: a) All keys (except keyboard and CLEAR keys) and lamps on
CDU and MSU illuminate.
b) Numerals 88.88.8 N/S are displayed in left-hand data display.
c) Numerals 888.88.8 E/W are displayed in right-hand data display.
d) Numerals 8 8 are displayed in FROM-TO display.
2) Press and hold TEST switch while rotating DIM knob and observe that intensity of data displays, FROM-TO display, ALERT lamp, and HOLD, REMOTE, INSERT, and WY PT CHG keys, is changed.
3) Set DIM knob for optimum intensity.
4) Place data selector to XTK/TKE and observe that: a) Left-hand data display shifts to 888.88 N/S. b) Right-hand data display shifts to 888888. E/W.
5) Place data selector to HDG/DA and observe that: a) Left-hand data display shifts to 8888.8. N/S. b) Right-hand data display remains 888888. E/W.
