B. Remove Knobs and Panel Assembly
CAUTION: PANEL IS INTERNALLY LIT AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED IF PAINT
_______ IS SCRATCHED. THEREFORE, DO NOT PRY KNOBS OFF USING A SCREWDRIVER.
(1)
Remove knobs by loosening hex set screws and lifting off switch shaft.
(2)
Loosen four captive screws.
(3)
Carefully lift panel assembly approximately one inch away from CDU.
CAUTION: DO NOT JERK OR TRY TO FORCE PANEL AWAY FROM CDU BECAUSE
_______ THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE EDGE LIGHTING PLUG ARE SHORT, AND DAMAGE TO THE WIRES AND PLUG MAY RESULT.
(4)
Using fingers or 3/16-inch wide screwdriver blade, open clips that secure edge lighting plug and disconnect plug from panel.
(5)
Remove panel assembly.
C. Install Knobs and Panel Assembly
(1)
Place panel assembly over switch shafts.
(2)
Using fingers or 3/16-inch wide screwdriver blade, connect edge lighting plug to panel assembly receptacle, then lock clips.
(3)
Push panel assembly flush against front of CDU and align captive screws in panel assembly with matching holes in CDU.
(4)
Tighten captive screws.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN SCREWS BECAUSE PANEL MAY WARP OR BREAK.

(5) Place knobs on switch shafts and tighten set screws just enough to prevent knob movement on shaft.

(1)
Unfasten three clips on indicator access panel and remove panel (Fig. 303).
(2)
Pull annunciator lamp cover or key from socket.
(3)
Pull lamp from lamp cover or key.
(4)
Insert new lamp in lamp cover or key. See Fig. 304 for correct lamp size.
CAUTION: WHEN RELAMPING, USE CARE TO INSTALL CORRECT TYPE LAMP.
_______ ONLY 28-VOLT LAMPS ARE USED IN BATT AND WARN ANNUNCIATORS. FAILURE TO USE CORRECT BULB CAN CAUSE TRANSISTOR BURNOUT IN NAVIGATION UNIT.
(5)
Reinstall lamp cover or key.
(6)
Reinstall access panel and fasten three clips.
(7)
Perform step 10 (Test CDU Lamps)
