 (af) Test RADIO/INS transfer relay and HSI MILES indicators. 1) Note CAPT's HSI MILES readout. 2) Open CAPT FLT INST SW RELAYS; -VOR-ILS/INS circuit breaker located on STANDBY bus on P7 panel. 3) Set CAPT's VOR-ILS/INS switch to the VOR-ILS position. Check that CAPT's HSI miles readout does not change. 4) Close CAPT FLT INST SW RELAYS; VOR-ILS/INS circuit breaker Check that CAPT's HSI MILES display goes blank. 5) Note F/O's HSI MILES readout. 6) Open F/O FLT INST SW RELAYS; -VOR-ILS/INS circuit breaker located on FLT INST BUS NO. 2 (P7 panel). 7) Set F/O's VOR-ILS/INS switch to the VOR-ILS position. Check that F/O's HSI miles readout does not change. 8) Close F/O FLT INST SW RELAYS; VOR-ILS/INS circuit breaker Check that F/O HSI MILES display goes blank.

 9) Return CAPT's and F/O's VOR-ILS/INS switches to INS position. (ag) If the INS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.
 (6)  Test Inertial Navigation System/ADI Interface
 (a)  
If required, prepare for test as described in paragraph D.

 (b)  
Set each INS mode selector switch on pilot's overhead panel P5 to ALIGN.

 (c)  
Set each INS control/display unit data selector to DSRTK/STS and allow INS to align until the align mode number goes from 9 to 7.

 NOTE: The align mode number is located in position X on the
____ control/display unit right-hand data display (OYY-X5).
 (d)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, verify that ATT/COMP STAB switch on the captain's main instrument panel is in CAPT 1 - F/O 2 position. On AT 701-750, verify that ATTITUDE switch on the captain's main instrument panel is in the NORM position (captain's on No. 1 INS and first officer's on No. 2 INS).

 (e)  
Press test button on either ADI. Verify that ADI DISPLAYS 10 (| 3) degree pitchup and 20 (| 5) degree roll right indication and that attitude flag comes in view.

 (f)  
Release test button. Verify that ADI returns to 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag disappears from view.

 (g)  
Repeat steps (e) and (f) for remaining ADI.

 (h)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, set ATT/COMP STAB switch on the captain's main instrument panel to CAPT 3 - F/O 2 position. Verify that captain's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view. On AT 701-750, set captain's ATTITUDE switch to the CAPT 3 position. Verify that captain's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view.

 (i)  
Press test button on captain's ADI. Verify that ADI displays 10 (| 3) degree pitchup and 20 (| 5) degree roll right indication and that attitude flag comes in view.

 (j)  
Release test button. Verify that ADI returns to 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag disappears from view.

 (k)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, set ATT/COMP STAB switch on the captain's main instrument panel to CAPT 1 - F/O 3 position. Verify that F/O's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view. On AT 701-750, set captain's ATTITUDE switch to the F/O 3 position. Verify that F/O's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view.

 (l)  
Press test button on first officer's ADI. Verify that ADI displays 10 (| 3) degree pitchup and 20 (| 5) degree roll right indication and that attitude flag comes in view.

 (m)  
Release test button. Verify that ADI returns to 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag disappears from view.

 (n)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, return ATT/COMP STAB switch to CAPT 1 - F/O 2 position. On AT 701-750, return the ATTITUDE switch to the NORM POSITION.

 (o)  
If the INS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.

 (7)  Test Inertial Navigation/DME Interface (Airplanes with CIVA-20, CIVA-25, -28A and 32C INS and DME updating capability)
 (a)  
If required, prepare for test as described in par. D.

 (b)  
Ensure all DME circuit breakers (P7 panel) are closed.

 (c)  
Verify present position coordinates are entered into each INS.

 (d)  
Ensure each INS is in the navigate (NAV) mode, and each MSU NAV READY light is off.

 (e)  
Set up DME test set to provide a 5 NM range output at 108.00 MHz (Ref 34-55-00 A/T).

 (f)  
On captain's VHF NAV control panel, position mode selector to DME and tune frequency display to 108.00. Check captain's instrument panel for proper DME display.
