Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - WING system 4 switch on the P5 panel to the NORM position.

Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
"Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Do a check of the operation of the actuator:
(a)
Put the speed brake control lever in the UP position to lift the spoilers No. 5 and 8.
(b)
Make sure that the ratio changer actuator extends.
(c)
Make sure there are no hydraulic leaks.
(d)
Put the speed brake control lever in the DOWN position.
(e)
Make sure that the ratio changer actuator retracts.

INBOARD FLIGHT SPOILERS RATIO CHANGER ACTUATOR - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; an inspection of the inboard flight spoiler ratio changer actuator. To do the inspection, you measure the inner and the outer diameters of the parts that connect the ratio changer actuator.
B. You usually do this procedure before you install a ratio changer
actuator.

(1)
Do this task: "Ratio Changer Actuator Removal" (AMM 27-61-13/401).

Examine the bolts, bushings and other parts that connect the ratio changer actuator for worn areas (Fig. 601):
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown on Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.
