(1)
Remove the quadrant.

Examine the splines, bearing, and the bushing on the quadrant for worn areas.
(a)
Remove the parts to be examined.
(b)
Measure the parts.
NOTE: Use a micrometer and/or a vernier caliper.

(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 201.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts which are out of the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.

(1)
Install the quadrant.
(a)
Put the quadrant shaft through the bearing in the rig beam.
(b)
Install the spacer, washer and the nut.
(c)
Tighten the nut to a minimum of 250 pound-inches (28.45Nm). Continue to tighten the nut until the cotter pin can be installed.
(d)
Install the cotter pin.
(e)
Attach the cables to the quadrant with the cotter pins.

Adjust the wing spoiler cables (WS1A and WS1B or WS2A and WS2B) which are controlled by the differential mechanism quadrant which was removed.
(a)
Make sure the trim and feel mechanism is in the center and that the rig pin A/S-2 is installed.
(b)
Install rig pins A/S-14 or A/S-15 and A/S-16 or A/S-17 in the spoiler differential mechanism quadrant.
(c)
Install the rig pins in the spoiler control package quadrants which you removed (Fig. 201). 1) Install rig pins A/S-19 and A/S-22 for the left side
outboard quadrant. 2) Install rig pins A/S-21 and A/S-23 for the left side inboard quadrant. 3) Install rig pin A/S-20 for the right side outboard quadrant. 4) Install rig pin A/S-18 for the right side inboard quadrant.
(d)
With the rig pins installed, tighten the cables at the turnbuckles make sure that the tension is in the limits shown in Fig. 201.
(e)
Make sure you can install the rig pins freely.
(f)
Remove all of the rig pins.
(g)
Install the cable turnbuckle lock clips.

(4)
Pressurize the hydraulic systems (Ref 29-11-00/201).
