Remove the bolt (7 or 11), washer (9), bushing (8 or 12), and nut (10) from the differential mechanism.
(g)
Remove the differential mechanism (13).
(h)
Remove the couplings and the bolts, washers, and nuts from the differential mechanism.

If you will install used parts, do this task: "Spoiler Differential Mechanism Inspection" (Ref Paragraph 5).

Install the differential mechanism (Fig. 201):
(a)
Apply a thin layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the shafts of the quadrant coupling that have splines.
(b)
Install the two couplings on the output shafts of the differential mechanism.
(c)
Move the central control actuator link until it will not touch when you install the differential mechanism (13).
(d)
Align the differential mechanism with the mounting holes.
1) Make sure the lower differential mechanism is in the slot on the structure.
(e)
Install the four bolts (1), washers (2), and nuts (3).
(f)
Install the bolt (7 or 11), washers (9), bushing (8 or 12), and nut (10). 1) Hand tighten the nuts (3 and 10).
(g)
Turn the central control actuator link to align the splines.
NOTE: Only one position of the couplings is possible because
____ of the groove in the quadrant shaft.
