 (1) Do this task: "Trailing Edge Flaps Extension" (AMM 27-51-00/201).
 NOTE: You must fully extend the trailing edge flaps.

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear" (AMM/32-00-30/201).

 E. Do a Friction Check of the Spoiler Control System

 (1)  
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position.

 S 035-132

 (2)  
At the left and right spoiler differential mechanisms, remove the bolts from the coupling on each output shaft (Fig. 506).

 (3)  
Move the couplings on the output shaft of the differential
 mechanism.

 

 NOTE: It can be necessary to disconnect the central control
____ actuator (CCA) input then manually turn the CCA input lever. The couplings must be clear of the ribs on the mechanism housing.

 (4)  
Do this task if you cannot move the couplings: "Spoiler
 Differential Mechanism Removal" (AMM 27-61-03/201).

 (5)  
Attach a spring scale to the spoiler UP cables WS2A-1, WS2A-2, WS1A-1 and WS1A-2 at each turnbuckle with a wire clamp.

 S 975-137

 (6)  
Smoothly pull the spring scale to measure the force necessary to move each cable system to its full travel.

 (a)  
For the inboard flight spoilers (cables WS2A-1 and WS2A-2), make sure the force is not more than 9 pounds.(40N)

 (b)  
For the outboard flight spoilers (cables WS1A-1 and WS1A-2), make sure the force is not more than 7 pounds.(31.1N)

 (7)  
If the force is not more than the specified limits for each system, do these steps:

 (a)  
Connect the couplings.

 (b)  Connect the CCA input lever, if it is necessary.

 (8)  
If the force is more than the specified limits, do these steps:

 (a)  
Make sure the cable tensions are not out of tolerance.

 (b)  
Measure the force necessary to move the cable system again.
