19.28 |0.50 inches (490+/-12.7mm) plus the clearance between the spoiler and the flap.
(a) An optional procedure is to examine the distance the adjacent corners of spoilers No. 5 and 6 or 7 and 8 are not aligned. 1) Make sure the ground spoiler hydraulic valve is correctly
adjusted (Ref 27-62-00/201). 2) Make sure the distance the adjacent spoilers are not aligned is less than 0.25 inch(6.35mm).

WARNING: DO NOT PUT A PART OF YOUR BODY BETWEEN THE SPOILER AND THE
_______ WING UNLESS THE SPOILER ACTUATOR IS LOCKED OR THE HYDRAULIC POWER IS RELEASED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(a)
Open the applicable access panel and extend the flaps or lift the spoilers to get access to the spoiler control package. 1) Install the spoiler actuator locks on the spoilers if you
lifted the spoilers.
(b)
Adjust the input arm rod: 1) Loosen the two checknuts on the rod assembly. 2) Turn the adjustment rod until the spoiler is in the correct
position. 3) Hand tighten the two checknuts. 4) Put the speed brake control lever in the DOWN position to
lower the spoilers.
(c)
Make sure the clearance between the spoiler and the flap is in the tolerance.
(d)
Tighten the two checknuts on the rod assembly.

WARNING: OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO PREVENT THE SPOILER RETRACTION.
_______ IF YOU USE THE SPEED BRAKE LEVER TO LIFT THE SPOILERS, AND IF YOU RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN SYSTEMS NO. 1 AND 4, THE SPOILERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RETRACT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
