(1) Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

WARNING: OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO PREVENT THE SPOILER RETRACTION.
_______ IF YOU USE THE SPEED BRAKE LEVER TO LIFT THE SPOILERS, AND IF YOU RELEASE PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS, THE SPOILERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RETRACT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7G6, SPEED BRAKE AUTO CONT

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems 2, 3 and 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit position to extend the outboard trailing edge flaps.

_______ UNLESS THE SPOILER ACTUATOR IS LOCKED OR THE HYDRAULIC POWER IS RELEASED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

Open applicable trailing edge access panel and lower the flaps, or lift the spoilers to get access to the spoiler control package.

Install the spoiler actuator locking tool if you lifted the spoilers.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems 2, 3 and 4: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - WING switches for systems No. 2 and 3 on the pilots' overhead panel P5 to the SHUTOFF position.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

P180, DC Power Distribution Panel

2) 180H23, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 3

Remove the filter:
(a)
Put a container below the spoiler control package to catch the hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Remove the filter (15) and the filter cap (14) from the control package.
