ON THE OUTBOARD FLAPS; remove the four bolts (6) and washers (4) that connect the gimbal caps (3).
NOTE: The gimbal retainer (1) and nut (2) must stay in the
____
actuator attach fitting.
(b)
ON THE INBOARD FLAPS; remove the four bolts (6), washers (4 and 8) and nuts (7) that connect the gimbal caps (3) and the actuator attach fitting.
(c)
Remove the gimbal caps (3) from the ball screw nut.
(d)
Adjust the ball and screw support tool to get access to the actuator attach fitting.
NOTE: Make sure that you support the ball screw during the
____ adjustment. The ball screws at positions No. 1, 2, 7 and 8 weigh approximately 40 pounds. At positions No. 3 and 6 they weigh approximately 70 pounds. At positions No. 4 and 5 they weigh approximately 90 pounds.
(e) ON THE OUTBOARD FLAPS; remove the flap attach fitting as follows (Fig. 402, View C): 1) Remove the bolts and cover (9). 2) Remove the cotter pin (10), nut (11), thrust bearing (12),
shims (13) and flap attach fitting assembly (15).
NOTE: Do not remove bearings from fitting assembly (15)
____ unless repair or replacement makes it necessary (OHM 57-52-55).
(f) ON THE INBOARD FLAPS; remove the flap attach fitting as follows (Fig. 402, View D): 1) Remove the nut (22), washer (23), bolt (16), plate
assembly (17) and lock caps (18).
