(1) Make sure the landing gear ground locks are installed.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

To disconnect the automatic speed brake actuator from the idler crank remove the bolt, washer and nut (Fig. 501).

With the speed brake lever in the UP position, loosen the checknut and move the upstop until there is a clearance of .25 inch (6.35mm) or more between the upstop and the locking arm shoe (Fig. 503).

With the speed brake lever in the DN position, loosen and move the downstop until there is a clearance of 0.25 inch (6.35mm) or more between the downstop and the locking arm shoe (Section B-B, FIG. 501).
