SPOILER DIFFERENTIAL MECHANISM QUADRANT - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. There are four tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of a spoiler differential mechanism quadrant. There is an inspection and a task to repair a quadrant. This procedure applies to all of the spoiler quadrants.

Prepare for the Removal (Fig. 201)

(1) Make sure that the landing gear ground locks are installed.

WARNING: CAREFULLY DO THE SPECIFIED TASK TO INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS ON
_______ THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Install the door locks on the doors for the wing landing gear (Ref 32-00-30/201).

WARNING: MOVE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
_______ BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. THE FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Pressurize the hydraulic system (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Put the captain's and the first officer's control wheels in the neutral position.

Adjust the trim and feel system until you can install the rig pin A/S-2.

Put the speed brake control lever in the DOWN position.

Release the pressure in the hydraulic system (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the Quadrant (Fig. 201)

Remove the spoiler differential mechanism (Ref 27-61-03/201).

Remove the quadrant.
(a)
Loosen the cables at the turnbuckles which are nearest to the quadrant.
(b)
Remove the cables from the quadrant.
(c)
Remove the nut and the spacer from the quadrant
(d)
Remove the quadrant from the rig beam.

Micrometer - 1 to 2 inch(25-50mm), To Measure Inner Dimensions
