GROUND SPOILERS - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; an inspection of the ground spoilers. To do the inspection, you measure the inner and outer diameters of the parts in the hinges and the control package connection. The parts include bushings, bearings, liners, and bolts.
B. To do the check, you must remove the ground spoiler from the airplane and disassemble the hinges and the control package connection. You usually do this procedure before you install a ground spoiler.

Examine the parts for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.

Do this task: "Ground Spoiler Installation" (Ref 27-62-01/401).
