Open the access panel 572FB on the left wing or 672FB on the right wing below the inboard spoiler actuator.

Remove the Ratio Changer Actuator

Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the actuator (Fig. 401).
(a)
Install the caps on the hydraulic lines and the actuator ports.

Remove the ratio changer actuator:
(a)
Disconnect the piston rod of the actuator from the ratio changer linkage.
(b)
Remove the bolt that attaches the actuator to the quadrant mounting bracket.
(c)
Remove the ratio changer actuator.

Install the ratio changer actuator:
(a)
Attach the actuator to the quadrant mounting bracket with a bolt, a washer and a nut.
(b)
Install the cotter pin in the nut.
(c)
Attach the piston rod end of the actuator to the ratio changer linkage with a bolt, a washer, and a nut.
(d)
Install the cotter pin in the nut.

Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator:
(a)
Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines and the actuator ports.
(b)
Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator.
