(c) Subtract the clearance between the spoiler and the flap from the distance.
(4) S 862-052Put the speed brake control lever in the DOWN detent. Make sure the speed brake quadrant touches the quadrant stop (Fig. 203).
NOTE:____ The quadrant must touch the stop during the full adjustment procedure.
Use the auto speed brakes to drive the speed brakes down. This will make sure the quadrant will touch the stop.
(5) S 862-053Turn the captain's aileron control wheel clockwise or counterclockwise 30 degrees from the neutral position (4 units of trim on the decal on the control wheel hub) to lift No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 or No. 9, 10, 11, and 12 spoilers.
NOTE:____ Do not turn the control wheel through the 30-degree position. If you turn the control wheel to more than the 30-degree position, turn it again from the 25-degree position (about 3 units of trim) and hold.
(6) S 222-054On spoilers No. 2 or 11, make sure the spoiler is up 9 +0.00/-0.50 degrees or 6.31 +0.00/-0.35 inches(160+0.001/-8.89mm) plus the spoiler to flap clearance.
(7) S 222-055On spoilers No. 1, 3, 4, 9, 10 or 12, make sure the spoiler aligns with spoiler No. 2 or 11 in the limit of 0.13 inch.(3.3mm)
(8) S 822-120If the spoilers No. 1 thru 4 or No. 9 thru 12 are not in the tolerance, adjust the input arm rod assembly:
WARNING:_______ DO NOT PUT A PART OF YOUR BODY BETWEEN THE SPOILER AND THE WING UNLESS THE SPOILER ACTUATOR IS LOCKED OR THE HYDRAULIC POWER IS RELEASED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(a) (b) Open the applicable trailing edge panel and lower the flaps, or lift the spoilers to get access to the spoiler control package. 1) Install the spoiler actuator locking tools if you lifted the spoilers.Adjust the input rod (Fig. 201): 1) Loosen the two checknuts on the input rod.

2) Turn the adjustment rod until the spoiler is in the correct
position. 3) Tighten the two checknuts hand tight. 4) Turn the captain's aileron control wheel to the neutral
position.
a) Make sure that the spoilers No. 1 thru 4 or No. 9 thru 12 are full down when the control wheel is 10 +4/-2 degrees from the zero position (1 to 2 units of trim).
(c)
Examine the adjustment of the input rod again to make sure the spoilers are in the tolerance. 1) Adjust the spoilers if they are not in the tolerance.
(d)
Tighten the checknuts on the input rod.
