INBOARD FLIGHT SPOILERS - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; an inspection of the inboard flight spoilers. To do the inspection, you measure the inner and outer diameters of the parts which are in the spoiler hinges and the control package connection. The parts include bushings, bearings, liners and bolts.
B. To do the check, you must remove the spoiler from the airplane and disassemble the hinges and the control package connection. You usually do this procedure before you install an inboard flight spoiler.

Micrometer - 0 to 1 inch(0 to 25.4mm)

Micrometer - 1 to 2 inch(25.4 to 50.8mm)

Do this task: "Inboard Flight Spoiler Removal" (Ref 27-61-01/401).

Examine the parts for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured to the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.
