WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:_______ EXTEND THE TE FLAPS HYDRAULICALLY TO THE 30-UNIT POSITION
FOR THE RVDT TRANSMITTER REMOVAL AT THE FLAP TRANSMISSION. DO
NOT EXTEND THE TE FLAPS BY THE ELECTRICAL MODE. IF YOU USE THE
ELECTRICAL MODE, THE FLAPS WILL NOT GO TO THE CORRECT POSITION
AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS WHEN YOU OPERATE THEM IN THE
HYDRAULIC MODE.
(1) Do this task to extend the TE flaps to the 30-units position: "Trailing Edge Flap Extension with Hydraulic Power" (AMM 27-51-00/201).
NOTE: You must use hydraulic power to extend the flaps to the
____ 30 unit position or you cannot install the RVDT correctly.
(a) If you have problems during the 30 unit flap extension, use the steps that follow to extend the flaps: 1) Put the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch on the pilot's center
instrument panel, to the ALTN position.
2) Open these circuit breakers on the Main Power Distribution Panel, P6, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: a) 6L19, TE FLAP ELEC CONT OTBD b) 6L20, TE FLAP ELEC CONT INBD
3) Put the manual override lever on the bypass valve actuator motor, to position 2 (FIG. 401).
NOTE: There are two manual override levers, one for
____ the inboard system and one for the outboard system. It is only necessary to move the manual override lever for the system you are working on.

4) Put the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch on the pilot's center instrument panel, to the OFF position. 5) Move the flap control lever to the 30 unit detent to extend the TE flaps and attach a DO-NOT-MOVE tag.

8) 7C17, FLT CONT ELEC 2R DC

Lower the access panel to get access to the applicable RVDT:
