 7)  Make sure the right spoiler position indicator is at the higher scale mark.
 (d)  
Put the aileron control wheel in the neutral position. 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers are in the fully down position.

 2)  Make sure the two position indicators are at the lower scale mark.

 (e)  
Turn the aileron control wheel fully counterclockwise. 1) Make sure that spoiler No. 5 is up 20 degrees. 2) Make sure that spoilers No. 1 thru 4 are in the fully up


 position (45 degrees).
 3) Make sure that the trailing edges of spoilers No. 1 and 2,
 and No. 3 and 4 align in the limit of 0.50 inch.(12.7)
 4) Make sure the trailing edges of spoilers No. 2 and 3 align

 in the limit of 1.40 inches.(35.6mm) 5) Make sure that spoilers No. 8 thru 12 are in the fully down position. 6) Make sure the left spoiler position indicator on the EICAS status page is at the higher scale mark. 7) Make sure the right spoiler position indicator is at the lower scale mark.
 (f)  Put the aileron control wheel in the neutral position.

_______ PREPARE THE SAFETY SENSITIVE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIR MODE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF THE AIRPLANE SYSTEMS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Prepare Safety-Sensitive Systems for Air Mode Simulation" (AMM 32-09-02/201).

Do this task: "Put the Air/Ground Relay System in the Air Mode" (AMM 32-09-02/201).

Do the test of the spoiler control system with the speed brake control lever in the FLIGHT stop position:

 (a)  
See the STATUS page on the auxiliary EICAS.

 (b)  
Put the speed brake lever in the FLIGHT position. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1, 2, 11 and 12 are in the fully down position. 2) Make sure that spoilers No. 3, 4, 9 and 10 are in the fully


 up position (45 degrees). 3) Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 8 are up 20 degrees.

 4) Make sure the left spoiler position indicator on the EICAS is at the upper scale mark. 5) Make sure the right spoiler position indicator is at the lower scale mark.
 (c)  Turn the aileron control wheel fully clockwise: 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1 thru 5 are in the fully down
 position. 2) Make sure that spoilers No. 6 thru 8 are up 20 degrees. 3) Make sure that spoilers No. 9 thru 12 are in the fully up
 position (45 degrees). 4) Make sure the left spoiler position indicator on the EICAS status page is at the lower scale mark. 5) Make sure the right spoiler position indicator is at the upper scale mark.
 (d)  Turn the aileron control wheel fully counterclockwise. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1 thru 4 are in the fully up
 position (45 degrees). 2) Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 7 are up 20 degrees. 3) Make sure that spoilers No. 8 thru 12 are in the fully down
 position. 4) Make sure the left spoiler position indicator on the EICAS is at the upper scale mark. 5) Make sure the right spoiler position indicator is at the lower scale mark.
 (e)  Turn the aileron control wheel to the neutral position.

Do this task: "Put the Air/Ground Relay System Back in the Ground Mode" (AMM 32-09-02/201).

Do this task: "Put Safety-Sensitive Systems Back to the Condition Before Air Mode Simulation" (AMM 32-09-02/201).

 (7)  
Do the test of the spoiler control system with the speed brake control lever in the UP position:

 (a)  
Put the speed brake lever in the UP position.

 1)  Make sure the spoilers No. 1 thru 12 are in the fully up position (45 degrees).

 (b)  
Turn the aileron control wheel fully clockwise. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1 thru 5 are in the fully down position.
