 (k)  
Move the speed brake lever to the UP position.

 (l)  
Make sure that all spoilers are in the 45-degree position.

 (m)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DN position.

 (n)  
Make sure that all spoilers are in the fully retracted position.

 (6)  
Do a test of the automatic speed brake control system.

 (a)  
Move the No. 1 and 3 thrust levers to a thrust position more than 10 degrees (45.2 degrees Thrust Resolver Angle (TRA)).

 (b)  
Move the speed brake lever to the ARM position.

 (c)  
Move the No. 1 thrust lever to the idle position.
 1) Make sure that the spoilers do not move.


 (d)  
Move the No. 3 thrust lever to the idle position.
 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers extend.


 (e)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DN position. 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers retract. 2) Make sure the electrical actuator for the automatic speed

 brakes operates. You can hear the motor or see the movement of the actuator.

 (f)  
Move the No. 1 and 3 thrust levers to a thrust position of more than 10 degrees (45.2 degrees Thrust Resolver Angle (TRA)).

 (g)  
Move the speed brake lever to the ARM position.

 (h)  
Move the No. 3 thrust lever to the idle position.
 1) Make sure the spoilers do not move.


 (i)  
Move the No. 1 thrust lever to the idle position.
 1) Make sure that all spoilers extend.


 (j)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DN position. 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers retract. 2) Make sure the electrical actuator for the automatic speed

 brakes operates. You can hear the motor or see the movement of the actuator.

 (k)  
Make sure that the No. 1 and 3 thrust levers are in the idle position.


 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF
_______ THE AREA AROUND THE THRUST REVERSERS. IF THERE ARE PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT IN THE AREA WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER EXTENDS OR RETRACTS, INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR

Move the No. 2 reverse thrust lever to the full reverse thrust position. 1) Make sure that the speed brake lever is released from the

 DN position and moves to the UP position automatically. 2) Make sure all of the spoilers extend.

 (m)
Move the No. 2 reverse thrust lever to the idle position. 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers stay extended.

 position to the UP position automatically. 2) Make sure that all of the spoilers extend.

 (q)  
Move the No. 4 reverse thrust lever to the idle position. 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers stay extended.

 (r)  
Move the No. 3 thrust lever in a thrust position of more than 10 degrees (45.2 degrees TRA). 1) Make sure that all of the spoilers move to the fully


 retracted position. 2) Make sure that the speed brake lever moves to the DN position.
 D. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 A. General
 (1)  The spoiler control system must be adjusted correctly before you do the speed brake control system adjustment. Refer to AMM 27-61-00/501 if it is necessary to adjust the spoiler control system.
