 3)  Measure the linear distance between the two reference points. Subtract the distance when the panel is in the full down position.
 (e) Make sure that spoilers No. 2 and 3 align in the limit of
 1.40 inches (35.6mm).
 (f)  
Turn the control wheel clockwise and make sure that all spoilers are in the full down position when the wheel position indicator is between 1 and 2 units of trim.

Turn the control wheel to the full clockwise position.

Make sure that the spoiler No. 10 is up 30.80 |0.98 inches (782+/-24.9mm)(45.0+/-1.5 degrees). Find the reference marks for the spoiler if you use the linear measurement.

 (i)  
Make sure that the spoilers No. 10 and 11 align in the limit of


 1.40 inches.
 (j)  
Turn the control wheel counterclockwise and make sure that all spoilers are in the full down position when the control wheel indicator is between 1 and 2 units of trim.

 (k)  
Put the control wheel in the zero position.

Do a test of the operation of the spoiler differential mechanism with the speed brake control lever:

 (a)  
Put the speed brake control lever in the UP position.

 (b)  
Make sure the spoilers 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are in the full up position.

 (c)  
Put the speed brake control lever in the DOWN position.

 (d)  
Make sure all spoilers are in the full down position.

Do this task: "Spoiler Differential Mechanism Removal" (Ref Paragraph 2).

Measure the cranks, levers, and bolts for worn areas (Fig. 201):

 (a)  
Remove the parts.

 (b)  
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.

 (c)  
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 201.

 (d)  
If the part is not in the tolerance, repair or replace the parts.

 (e)  
Install the parts.
