Attach the sling assembly, the load positioner, and an applicable hoist to the spoiler (Fig. 401).
(a)
Balance the load positioner for 90 pounds.

Remove the spoiler:
(a)
Disconnect the spoiler (1) from the control package (32): 1) Hold the spoiler (1) in the up position. 2) Remove the bolt (30), bushings (31), washer (34), and
nut (33) from the spoiler.
NOTE: The antirotation plate (27) will hold the bolt while
____ you remove the nut.
(b)
If it is necessary, remove the bolt (35), washers (28), and nut (29) to remove the antirotation plate.
(c)
Remove the bolt (8), washer (9) and nut (10) to disconnect the bonding jumpers (11) from the outer hinges.
(d)
Remove the spoiler (1): 1) Remove the four bolts (7, 16 and 22), washers (6, 15, 17
and 19), bushings (5 and 20) and nuts (12 and 18). 2) Remove the spoiler.
NOTE: An inboard spoiler weighs approximately 43 pounds
____ (19.5kg).
3) If you will do the inboard flight spoiler inspection, remove the seal plates (2) and the captive bearings (13).
