Push the applicable FLAP CONTROL -L, -C, or -R test for the flap control unit. 1) Make sure that PASS is shown for the applicable flap
control unit.

(5) S 714-013Make sure the flaps move through the full travel: (a) Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent. 1) Make sure the flaps extend to the 30-unit position on the main EICAS. 2) Make sure there are no flaps system EICAS messages shown. (b) Put the flap control lever in the UP detent. 1) Make sure the flaps are fully retracted on the main EICAS.

General
_______
A. The trailing edge flap position indicating system provides visual indication on the flight deck of the displacement of the trailing edge flaps. The FLAPS display appears on the main EICAS whenever the flap lever is not in the full UP detent or any flap is not fully retracted.
B. Components used by the trailing edge flap position indicating system are the 6 TE flap position RVDT transmitters, the TE flap actuator (with integral RVDT transmitter), the 3 flap control units, and the EIU's and EICAS display. The system is powered through the flap control units by the 4 FCE power supply modules (Ref 27-09-00).
