G. Audio Test ADF System

(1) Do the ADF audio test (for both left ADF and right ADF).
(a) Connect a headphone to the captain's interphone audio jack panel.

(b)
Set the ADF/VOR selector switch on the captain's audio control panel to the ADF position for the applicable ADF system.
(c)
Set the ADF system volume control and cockpit speaker volume control to nominal setting.
(d)
Set the VOICE/RANGE switch on the captain's audio control panel to B (Both) position.
(e)
Make sure ADF audio sound can be heard loud and clear in the headphone. Readjust the ADF volume control and the cockpit speaker volume controls to make sure the ADF audio level can be changed.
H. ADF Bearing Accuracy and Standby Tuning Test ADF System

(1) Use the CDU to do the ADF bearing accuracy and standby tuning test.
(a)
Close these circuit breakers:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) 1F09, EIU L b) 1F10, EIU C
(b)
Open these circuit breakers:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) 3C01, FMCS FMC L b) 3C23, FMCS FMC R
(c)
Push the NAV RAD mode select key on the left and right CDUs. 1) The left and right CDUs display the ALTN NAV RADIO page.
(d)
Enter the frequency of a usable local ADF beacon station or the frequency of a usable local AM broadcast station on the left and right CDUs. 1) The left and right CDUs display the entered frequency.
(e)
Push the 3L LSK on the left CDU to tune the Left ADF.
(f)
Push the 3L LSK on the right CDU to tune the Right ADF.
(g)
Make sure the left and right CDUs display the desired frequency under the small font ADF letters.
(h)
Make sure the L ADF and R ADF pointers on the captain's ND point to the same bearing.

(2) Put the Safety Sensitive Systems back to the condition before Air Mode (AMM 32-09-02/201).
I. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

AUTOMATIC DIRECTION FINDER (ADF) RECEIVER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One is the removal of the ADF receiver. The other is the installation of the ADF receiver.
B. The left, B87 and right, B88 ADF receivers are installed on the E9 electrical equipment rack in the center equipment center. This center can be accessed by a door located at the bottom centerline of the fuselage.
C. The removal/installation procedure is the same for the left and right ADF receiver, with the exception of the circuit breakers.
D. The CMC has a Shop Faults menu item for the Left and Right ADF receivers, but neither ADF receiver can give shop fault information.
NOTE: Do not request Shop Faults data from the Left or Right ADF
