Audio management Unit (AMU) (Fig. 26)
(a) The CDU sends a DME audio select analog signal to the AMU. This signal, if open, indicates that there is a DME collocated with a VOR. If grounded then there is a DME collocated with an ILS.

Navigation Display (ND) (Fig. 25)
(a)
The CDU sends the following data to the ND for display purposes. This data is as follows: 1) Cross track distance 2) Desired track 3) Distance to go 4) Present position - latitude and longitude 5) Start Dynamic data 6) Time to go
(b)
This data is transmitted over a high speed ARINC 429 digital bus.

Auxilary Engine Indicating and Alerting System (AUX EICAS) (Fig. 25)
(a) The CDU transmits the same data as discribed in the above ND section. The data is transmitted over the same digital bus.
(16)
EICAS control panel/ FMC switch (Fig. 26)
(a) The CDU receives the heading switch input. This discrete defines whether the airplane is operating in magnetic or true heading.
(17)
Captain's and F/O's source select switch (Fig. 26)
(a) The CDU receives the active port select analog signal from the source select switch. The left CDU receives the signal from the Capt's source select, the right from the F/O's and the center receives the signal from both Capt's and F/O's source select.
(18)
Indicator Lights (IND LTS) Switch
(a) The CDU receives a lamp test signal from the IND LTS switch. This switch tests the annunciator lights (DSPY, FAIL, MSG, OFST) ability to illuminate and its ability to illuminate for two different intensities, dim and bright.
F. CDU Independent Functions(EFIS control panel).
(1) General
(a) The CDU allows crew/system interface with other systems besides the FMC. These systems are CMC and ACARS. It also has the capability to provide alternate functions for navigation, radio tuning and EFIS/EICAS panel control.
