ATC SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. The adjustment test procedure for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system contains two task. The first task is an operational test. The second task is a system test. The operational test is a fast check of the system. The system test uses a ramp test set to examine the ATC system. To fully examine the ATC system, do the operational test and the system test.
B. Two ATC systems are installed in the airplane. Each ATC system is made of a transponder, two antennas (top and bottom), two RF transfer relays, and a dual ATC control panel.

2. ATC System - Operational Test_____________________________
A. General
(1) This test examines the ATC system for correct operation. It uses only the system's BITE functions, and no special test or ground equipment is necessary. The TEST switch on the front panel of the ATC transponder starts the operational test.
