(2) Do the audio test for left VOR navigation system:
(a)
Push the volume control switch on the ACP to turn on the flight interphone speakers and headsets.
(b)
Adjust the volume to a nominal level.
1) Make sure you hear the local VOR sound on the flight interphone speakers and headsets.

(3) Prepare to do the audio test for the right VOR navigation system:
(a)
Push the NAV RAD key on the right CDU until you find the NAV RADIO page.
(b)
Put the local VOR station frequency into the CDU scratch pad.
(c)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to the R VOR frequency.
1) Make sure the local VOR frequency shows on the lower right corner of the NDs.

Set the voice/range switch on the ACP to the R position.

Set the NAV AID switch on the ACP to the R VOR position.

3. Ground Test - VOR Navigation System

A. General
(1) The ground test does not use external test equipment and thus it can do a system check quickly. This task uses the central maintenance computer system (CMCS) and the control display unit (CDU) to test the VOR navigation system. The results will indicate if the VOR/MKR receiver and the VOR/MKR data bus operate correctly.

Control display Unit (CDU), installed (AMM 34-61-02/401).
E. Prepare for the test:

(1) Prepare the VOR navigation system for the test:
(a) Tune the VOR receivers. 1) Push the NAV RAD key on the CDU until you find the NAV
RADIO page. 2) Put the local VOR frequency into the CDU scratch pad. 3) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the VOR frequency. 4) Put a course of 000 degrees into the CDU scratch pad. 5) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the course.
F. Prepare for the left VOR navigation system ground test

Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
