(b)
The CDU consists of an alphanumeric keypad, mode and function select keys, and a display screen with twelve line select keys to choose items from menus displayed on the screen.
(c)
The left and right CDU's are located on the forward electronic control panel (P9) and the center CDU is located on the aft electronic control panel (P8).
(3)
FMC select switch
(a)
The FMC select switch is used to select the source of FMC data for the VOR and other systems. In case of failure of one FMC, the switch is used to select the other FMC.
(b)
The FMC select switch is located on the EICAS select panel/FMC switch module on the pilots' center instrument panel (P2).
C. Integrated Display System (IDS)
(1) Components of the IDS that interface with the VOR navigation system are the:

EFIS Control Panel (Fig. 1)
(a)
The EFIS control panel mode select switch is used to select VOR data for display on the ND. The CTR pushbutton is used to change from the expanded display (default) to the full compass rose display on the ND.
(b)
The captain's and first officer's EFIS control panels are located on the left and right sides of the pilots' lightshield, respectively.
(3)
EFIS/EICAS Interface Unit (EIU)
(a)
Three EIU's receive digital data from each VOR receiver. They process this information to create VOR displays on the ND's.
(b)
The left, right and center EIU's are located in the E2 electronics equipment rack in the main equipment center. They are located on the No. 6 shelf.
(4)
Navigation Display (ND)
(a)
The ND is a multifunction indicator which provides displays for several electronic systems. The following paragraphs describe the displays for the VOR mode.
(b)
The ND displays the VOR tuned frequency or ground station identifier, selected course, TO/FROM indication, course annunciation and VOR deviation.
(c)
The course arrow indicates the course selected on the CDU keyboard. The course deviation pointer and scale displays the deviation from the selected course. When the VOR bearing and course are the same, the course deviation pointer will line up with the course arrow.
(d)
For no computed data in either channel, the course arrow and TO/FROM annunciator are removed and dashes replace numeric displays. For invalid data in either channel, the course deviation pointer and scale, TO/FROM annunciator, course arrow and alphanumeric displays are removed.
(e)
The captain's ND is located on the captain's instrument panel (P1). The first officer's ND is located on the first officer's instrument panel (P3).
D. Flight Interphone System
(1) The component of the flight interphone system that interfaces with the VOR navigation system is the audio control panel.

(2) Audio Control Panel (ACP)
(a)
Three audio control panels are used to select and control the broadcast of VOR audio from the VOR/MKR receivers. VOR receiver audio is heard over the flight interphone system when the ACP VOR-ADF control switch is turned on and the channel selector is placed in the VOR L or VOR R position.
(b)
The left, right and center audio control panels are located on the aft electronics control panel (P8).
