C. Thrust Mode Transitions and Annuncitations.

There are five different thrust modes displayed on the CDU THRUST LIM page and the primary EICAS. Derated takeoff and climb thrust modes are available as an option on the CDU. The thrust modes are displayed as follows:
TO- Takeoff TO 1- Derated takeoff 1 TO 2- Derated takeoff 2 CLB- Climb CLB 1- Derated climb 1 CLB 2- Derated climb 2 CRZ- Cruise CON- Continuous GA- Go around

Temperature derates are also available on the CDU THRUST LIM page. When an assumed temperature is entered, the takeoff thrust modes are displayed as follows:

Power up phase.
(a) While the airplane is on the ground:
1) The TO thrust mode will automatically be the selected thrust mode and the CLB thrust mode will automatically be armed during the power up phase.
2) The CDU THRUST LIM page and the EICAS will display as follows:

(b) While the airplane is 17000 feet Above Ground Level (AGL): 1) If the airplane's speed is greater than .45 MACH the selected thrust mode will default to CON. 2) If the airplane's speed is less than .45 MACH the selected thrust mode will default to GA.
3) The CDU THRUST LIM page and the EICAS will display as follows:

GA ---GA (A/P speed < 0.45 MACH)
(4) Ground/preflight flight phase.
