E. Procedure
S 472-007
(1) Install the TCAS software:
(a) Push the ON/OFF button and make sure the PWR ON light comes on.
NOTE: When you supply power, the PDL display will stay empty
____ for approximately 7 seconds. Then the display will show TESTING - PLEASE WAIT for approximately 2 seconds.
After this, the PDL will do a check for a data disk. If none is found, the display will show DISK NOT INSERTED. If a data disk is found, the display will show REINSERT DISK. If this occurs, push the eject button and remove the disk.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE CORRECT SOFTWARE PART NUMBER BEFORE
_______ YOU PUT THE DISKETTE INTO THE DISK DRIVE. FOR THE TCAS TO BE AN APPROVED INSTALLATION, THE CORRECT SOFTWARE PART NUMBER MUST BE INSTALLED.
(b) Put the data disk into the drive.
NOTE: The PDL will do a check for a data file and, if
____ found, will show the file name and total number of blocks in the file.

The data load sequence will start automatically.
(d)
If the data to be installed is contained on more than one disk, insert the next disk after INSERT DISK #X shows.
NOTE: X is the number of the disk.

After all the data has been installed, the TCAS computer will make sure the data load is correct. If this takes more than a few seconds, the PDL will show VERIFY PENDING.
(e)
Make sure DATA LOAD COMPLETE shows on the PDL.
(f)
Make sure the FAIL light is off and the READY light is on.
(g)
Push the eject button.
(h)
Remove the data disk.
(i)
Push the ON/OFF button on the PDL.
(j)
Make sure the PWR ON light goes off.
F. Download Failure Indication

(1) If a failure occurs the FAIL light on the PDL will come on.
NOTE: The FAIL light comes on when a failure is detected while in

these modes:
-turn on test,
-self test,
-upload transfer,
-download transfer.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Initial Condition

(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7A5, TCAS

(2) S 492-036Disconnect the PDL interface cable from the TCAS computer.
(3) S 432-012Remove the dust cap from the ADL connector.
(4) S 412-039Reconnect the electrical connector to the ADL.
(5) S 412-040Put the ADL in its position.
(6) S 412-041Tighten the screws to install the ADL.
(7) S 862-016Close these circuit breakers: (a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) 6L35, FMCS DATA BASE (b) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 7A5, TCAS
(8) S 862-017Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
