(3) Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.

Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the navigation radios system.
(f)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the navigation radios system.
(g)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to the applicable prompt (<ADF-L or <ADF-R).
(h)
Make sure the L ADF and R ADF system Ground Tests show INHIBITED.
(i)
Close this circuit breaker and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

(j)
Open this circuit breaker and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

Make sure the L ADF and R ADF system Ground Tests show INHIBITED.
(l)
Close this circuit breakers:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN
(m)
Open this circuit breaker and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) 1F22, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT PRI b) F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN
(n)
Make sure the L ADF and R ADF system Ground Tests show INHIBITED.
(o)
Close this circuit breaker and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

(1) Do the ADF bearing test.
(a) Make these settings on the captain's EFIS control panel: 1) Set the mode select switch to MAP position.

2) Set the VOR/ADF selector switches to ADF position.
(b)
On the captain's source select panel, set the EIU select switch to AUTO.
(c)
Turn the brightness control knob for the captain's ND to a setting that allows comfortable viewing of the ND display.
(d)
Use CDU inputs to the FMC to tune the left ADF (L-ADF) receiver to a local AM broadcast station frequency. If reception is possible from a local ADF beacon station, tune to that station frequency.
(e)
Use CDU inputs to the FMC to tune the right ADF (R-ADF) receiver to a local AM broadcast station (preferably a station with a broadcast frequency different than that used for the left ADF). If reception is possible from another local ADF beacon station that is different from the L-ADF, tune to that station frequency.
(f)
Make sure the captain's ND displays ADF L and identifier characters at the bottom left corner of the display.
(g)
Make sure the captain's ND displays ADF R and identifiers characters on the bottom right corner of the display.
(h)
Open these circuit breakers:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) 1F09, EIU L b) 1F15, EIU R
(i)
Close this circuit breaker:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel: a) 1F15, EIU R
(j)
Open this circuit breaker:
