(5) Takeoff flight phase.
(a) Takeoff derate to takeoff thrust mode transitions.
1) Action or condition:
Select TO on the CDU THRUST LIM page while the airplane is on the ground and the A/T T/O is not engaged.
OR
Select TO on the CDU THRUST LIM page while the
airplane is more than 400 feet AGL.
OR
Push the TO/GA switch.

(b) Takeoff to climb thrust mode transitions. 1) Action or condition:
Select CLB, CLB 1 or CLB 2 on the CDU THRUST LIM page while the airplane is on the ground and the A/T T/O is not engaged.
OR
Select CLB, CLB 1 or CLB 2 on the CDU THRUST LIM page
while the airplane is more than 400 feet AGL.
OR
VNAV requests the armed CLB thrust mode while VNAV is
engaged and the airplane is more than 400 feet AGL.

(d) Takeoff to continuous thrust mode transitions. 1) Action or condition:
Push the THR button on the MCP during an engine out condition and while the airplane is more than 400 feet AGL.
OR
VNAV requests the CON thrust mode while VNAV is
engaged and the airplane is more than 400 feet AGL.
