(d) Set the A/T ARM switch, on the P10 autoflight control panel, to the A/T ARM position.

(8) Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <34 FLIGHT MANAGEMENT.
(f)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 FLIGHT MANAGEMENT to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the FMC system.
(g)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <FMC-L or <FMC-R.
NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above <FMC-L or <FMC-R, the test will

not operate.
(h) If INHIBITED shows above <FMC-L or <FMC-R: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the test prompt. 2) Do the steps shown on the CDU. 3) Push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN to show the ground
test menu again.
E. Flight Management Computer Ground Test

Set the ND Mode Selector on the EFIS control panel, on the P10 panel, to MAP or PLAN.

Push the LSK adjacent to the applicable prompt (<FMC-L or <FMC-R).
(a) Make sure each instruction on the interactive page is completed.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ THROTTLE LEVERS BEFORE YOU DO THE FMC GROUND TEST. THE THROTTLE LEVERS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU DO THE GROUND TEST. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b) AUTOTHROT DISC comes into view on the main EICAS.

(c) Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONFIRM.
NOTE: IN PROGRESS shows during the test.

(d) Make sure these conditions occur:
1) The FMC I/O TEST OK comes into view on the captain's and the first officer's NAV display.
NOTE: The FMC I/O TEST OK will not show if the ND Mode
____ Selector on the EFIS control panel is not set to MAP or PLAN.
2) The red PILOT RESPONSE message shows on EICAS and an aural warning is heard. 3) IN PROGRESS goes out of view on the CDU.
NOTE: A movement of the throttle levers can occur.

(3) When IN PROGRESS goes out of view, look for PASS or FAIL> adjacent to <FMC-L or <FMC-R.
NOTE: If a PASS indication shows, no failures occured during the

(a)
Make sure the FMC I/O TEST OK indication goes out of view.
(b)
Push the autothrottle disengage switch on the thrust lever.
1) Make sure that the AUTOTHROT DISC indication goes out of view.
(c)
If FAIL> shows: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to FAIL> to see the GROUND TEST MSG pages for the failure. 2) Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find all the GROUND TEST MSG pages.
3) Make a list of all CMCS messages, CMCS message numbers, and ATA numbers that show on the GROUND TEST MSG pages.
