1. General_______
A. The task in this procedure is the TCAS Computer software installation. The task is provided because the airborne data loader (ADL) cannot be used to load the TCAS computer and must be disconnected. The ADL can be found in the P11 panel.

NOTE:____The PDL is not a Boeing supplied item. This coverage is included for information only. See the data loader instructions, which are supplied by the vender, to do the navigation data base installation.

(1) Make sure this circuit breaker is open:

(2) S 032-017Release the fasteners on the front of the ADL.
(3) S 012-018Pull the ADL carefully until you can get acess to the electrical connector.

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE ADL.
_______ IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ADL.

Disconect the electrical connector from the rear of the ADL.

Put a dust cap on the electrical connector.

Make sure this circuit breaker is closed:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 7F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN

(7) Prepare the PDL for the software installation:
(a)
Open this circuit breaker and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel a) 7A5, TCAS
(b)
Open access door (117AL) of the electronics compartment to get to the TCAS computer (AMM 06-09-01/201).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE POWER ON LIGHT ON THE PDL IS OFF AND POWER IS
_______ REMOVED FROM THE FMCS BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE INTERFACE CABLE. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT MAY OCCUR.
(8) Connect the PDL interface cable to the PDL.
