Release the Hydraulic Pressure (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Pull the speed brake handle aft to the UP position if you are to install the left CDU.
NOTE: The speed brake handle can cause a blockage when you install
____ the left CDU.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Install the ground locks in all landing gear if you are to install the right CDU (Ref 09-11-00/201).

Move the landing gear handle to the OFF position if you are to install the right CDU.
NOTE: The landing gear handle can cause a blockage when you install
____ the right CDU.

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CDU.
(6) Install the CDU:
(a)
Remove the dust caps from the electrical connectors.
(b)
Examine the CDU's electrical connector for loose, dirty, bent, or broken pins.
(c)
Connect the electrical connector to the CDU.
(d)
Put the CDU carefully into its mounting bracket.

Put down the CDU handle.
(f)
Lock the fasteners on the front of the CDU.

Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7C1 FMCS FMC L
2) 7C2 FMCS CDU L
3) 7C23 FMCS FMC R
4) 7C24 FMCS CDU R
5) 7C3 FMCS CDU C

(9) Do a test of the CDU:
(a) Make sure the MENU page shows on the new CDU.
NOTE: You could possibly have to turn the BRT control on
____
the new CDU to show the MENU page.
(b)
Hold the IND LTS switch on the P5 pilot's overhead panel in the TEST position. 1) Make sure the DSPL, FAIL, MSG and OFST annunciators and the
EXEC key light come on.
(c)
Release the IND LTS switch.
1) Make sure that the DSPL, FAIL, MSG and OFST annunciators and the EXEC key light go off.

Put the speed brake handle to the DN position if you installed the left CDU.

Move the landing gear handle to the DN position if you installed the right CDU.

Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
