Do this task to remove the applicable VOR/MKR receiver from the E2 electronics equipment rack: Rack-Mounted Electrical/Electronic Module Installation (Ref 20-11-22/401).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:


 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7A9 NAV RADIO MKR VOR L

 2)  7B21 NAV RADIO VOR R, or NAV RADIO MKR VOR R
 (5)  S 864-022Do this task to supply electrical power: (Ref 24-22-00/201). Manual Control
 (6)  S 864-023Tune the VOR/MKR receiver to a VOR frequency with the left or right CDU (Ref 34-51-00/501).
 (7)  S 714-024Do the VOR/MKR receiver BITE test:
 NOTE:____ The VOR/MKR receiver ground test can replace the BITE test. The VOR/MKR receiver ground test is part of the Operational Test - VOR Navigation System (Ref 34-51-00/501).
 (a)  Push and release either one of the TEST switch on the front panel of the LCD screen of the VOR/MKR receiver and look for this sequence: 1) The TEST IN PROGRESS display is shown on the LCD screen of the VOR.MKR receiver. 2) The test continue for approximately 5 seconds. 3) The TEST COMPLETE NO FAILURES display is shown for a test successful. 4) The TEST COMPLETE FAILURES display is shown for a test fail condition. 5) If the TEST FAIL condition has occurred, then, push and release the WHY switch to display the fault messages.
 (8)  S 864-025If electrical power is not necessary, Do this task to remove electrical power: (Ref 24-22-00/201). Manual Control

 VOR/LOC ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the VOR/LOC antenna. The second task is the installation of the VOR/LOC antenna. An operational test must be done after the installation of the VOR/LOC antenna.

 2.  VOR/LOC Antenna Removal_______________________(Fig. 401)
 A.  General
 (1)  The VOR/LOC antenna (B67) is installed at the top of the vertical stabilizer fin.

 D.  Procedure
 S 864-002
 (1)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7A9 NAV RADIO MKR VOR L
 2) 7B21 NAV RADIO VOR R, or

 NAV RADIO MKR VOR R

Remove the vertical stabilizer tip (Ref 55-30-02/401).

 (3)  
Remove the VOR/LOC antenna:

 (a)  
Remove the screws that attach the antenna to the airplane structure.

 (b)  
Lift the antenna away from the vertical stabilizer to get to the coaxial connectors on the bottom of the antenna.

 (c)  
Disconnect the coaxial connectors from the antenna. The connector numbers are D2127J for the left VOR system and D2128J for the right VOR system.

 3.  VOR Antenna Installation________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  The VOR/LOC antenna (B67) is installed at the top of the vertical stabilizer fin.
