NOTE: Airplanes with FMC's that have serial numbers before
____ 4000 with bubble memory cards installed: If the FMC ground test fails, do the test several additional times and compare the results to make sure that the fault is valid.
4) Go to the CMCS Message Index of the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) to find the corrective action for each CMCS message.
F. Put the Airplane in Its Usual Condition

Set the EEC switches to the NORM position.

(a)
Set the FMC master switch on the P2 pilot's center instrument panel to the L position.
(b)
Set the A/T ARM switch on the P10 autoflight control panel to the OFF position.
(c)
Set the captain's NAV source select switch on the P1 captain's instrument panel to the FMC L position.
(d)
Set the first officer's NAV source select switch on the P3 first officer's instrument panel to the FMC R position.

3. Ground Test - Flight Management Computer Servo Loop___________________________________________________
A. General
(1) This procedure contains the instructions to do the servo loop test for the left and right FMC. The servo loop test make sure that the FMC controls the throttles correctly.

D. Prepare for the Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the engines are off (AMM 71-00-00/201).

Make sure the airplane is not in the air mode (AMM 32-09-02/201).

Prepare the FMC for the test:
(a) Set the FMC master switch, on the P2 pilot's center instrument panel, to the applicable position (L or R).
NOTE: To do the left FMC tests the FMC master switch must be
____ in the L position. To do the right FMC tests the FMC master switch must be in the R position.
(b) Set the A/T ARM switch, on the P10 autoflight control panel, to the A/T ARM position.

(5) Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <34 FLIGHT MANAGEMENT.
(f)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 FLIGHT MANAGEMENT to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the FMC system.
(g)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <FMC-L SERVO LOOP or <FMC-R SERVO LOOP.
NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above <FMC-L SERVO LOOP or <FMC-R
____ SERVO LOOP, the test will not operate.
(h) If INHIBITED shows above <FMC-L SERVO LOOP or <FMC-R SERVO LOOP: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the test prompt. 2) Do the steps shown on the CDU. 3) Push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN to show the ground
