(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7C1, FMCS FMC L
2) 7C23, FMCS FMC R

Make sure the Captain's Nav Source Select Switch is in the FMC-L position.

Make sure the First Officier's Nav Source Select Switch is in the FMC-R position.

Make sure the NAV DATA CROSSLOAD page shows on the CDU for the FMC that is to receive the navigational database.

Show the NAV DATA CROSSLOAD page on the other CDU:
NOTE: The left and right CDUs must show the NAV DATA CROSSLOAD

(a)
Push the INIT/REF key.
(b)
Push the LSK adjacent to the <INDEX prompt to show the INIT/REF INDEX page.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to the MAINT> prompt to show the MAINTENANCE INDEX page.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to the <CROSSLOAD prompt to show the NAV DATA CROSSLOAD page.

(6) Arm the NAV DATA CROSSLOAD page shown on each CDU.
(a)
Push "A", "R" and "M" to show "ARM" in the CDU scratchpad.
(b)
Push the LSK adjacent to the field that shows "___" to show "ARM" in the field.

(7) Do these steps to crossload the navigational database software:
(a) Set the FMC master switch on the P2 pilot's center instrument panel to the same position as the FMC that transmits the data.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CORRECT LSKS ARE PUSHED IN THE STEPS THAT
_______ FOLLOW. THIS WILL MAKE SURE THAT THE DATA TRANSFER IS FROM THE FMC WITH THE CORRECT NAVIGATIONAL DATABASE PART NUMBER TO THE FMC WITH THE INCORRECT NAVIGATIONAL DATABASE PART NUMBER. YOU WILL LOSE THE CORRECT NAVIGATIONAL DATABASE IF THE LSKS ARE NOT PUSHED CORRECTLY.
(b)
Push the LSK adjacent to the <TRANSMIT prompt on the CDU that corresponds to the FMC that will send data.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to the RECEIVE> prompt on the CDU that corresponds to the FMC that is to receive data.
(d)
Make sure the TRANSFER IN PROGRESS indication shows on the CDU that corresponds to the FMC that sends data.
(e)
Make sure the STANDBY ONE indication shows on the CDU that corresponds to the FMC that receives data.

(f) When the crossload is completed, the TRANSFER COMPLETE indication replaces the TRANSFER IN PROGRESS indication.
NOTE: The time it takes to complete a crossload is usually
____ less than twenty minutes. If the navigational database does not crossload correctly, the TRANSFER ABORTED indication will replace the TRANSFER IN PROGRESS indication.
