A. Removal of the Filter and the Filter Housing
(1) FWD and AFT Cargo Compartment (Ref. Fig. 301/TASK 25-53-00-991-001-A, 302/TASK 25-53-00-991-005)
(a)
Remove the screws (1) from the filter housing (2).
(b)
Remove the filter housing (2) with the filter (12) and discard the filter (12).

B. Removal of the Drain Funnel
(1) For the FWD and/or AFT Cargo Compartment (Ref. Fig. 301/TASK 25-53-00-991-001-A, 302/TASK 25-53-00-991-005)
(a)
Remove the insulation (6),(8) and (9) from the drain funnel (5).
(b)
Loosen the pipe end-fitting (11) and disconnect the drain pipe from the drain funnel (5).
(c)
Remove and discard the O-ring (10).
(d)
Remove the nuts (7) and the screws (3).
(e) Remove the drain funnel (5). Subtask 25-53-00-020-052
C. Removal of the Insulation and Strip Heater Element
(1)
For the FWD Cargo Compartment
(Ref. Fig. 303/TASK 25-53-00-991-002)
(a)
Remove the nuts (21), the bolts (24), (26), the washers (23) and the bonding straps (25).
(b)
Remove the bolts (38) with the washers (37).
(2)
For the AFT Cargo Compartment
(Ref. Fig. 304/TASK 25-53-00-991-006)
(a)
Remove the nut (21), the bolts (24),(26), the washers (23) and the bonding straps (25).
(b)
Remove the nuts (35), the bolts (38) with the washers (37).
(3)
For the FWD and AFT Cargo Compartment
(a)
Remove the clamps (22), (36) from the drain pipes.
(b)
Cut and discard the tie-wrap from each heater element terminal (39).

Disconnect the three wires of the heater element at each terminal (39).
(d)
Cut and discard each tie-wrap on the drain pipes. Remove and retain the identification labels.
(e)
Remove the insulation (31) of the drain pipe (32).
(f)
Remove the adhesive tape (30) that attaches the heater element
(33) to the drain pipes (32).
(g) Remove the heater elements (33). Subtask 25-53-00-020-054
D. Removal of the Drain Pipes
(1)
For the FWD Cargo Compartment between (FR30) and (FR33)
(Ref. Fig. 305/TASK 25-53-00-991-003)
(2)
For the AFT Cargo Compartment between (FR53) and (FR58)
(Ref. Fig. 306/TASK 25-53-00-991-007)
(a)
Support the drain pipes (40), (43).
(b)
Cut and discard the tie-wraps (41) from the rubber sleeves (42).
(c)
Pull the rubber sleeve (42) off the drain pipe sections (40), (43).
NOTE : Removal step (d) is only for the FWD cargo compartment.

(d)
Loosen the pipe end-fitting (64) and disconnect the drain pipe from the pipe end-fitting (65).
(e)
Remove the drain pipe sections.
(f)
Put blanking plugs on the ends of the drain pipe sections.
