R  Air-Stop Drain Valve 5000MM (5001MM) 
R  Each air-stop drain valve installed in the FWD and AFT drain systems, has a 
R  valve body with inlet/outlet ports, diaphragm, heating plate, thermostat and 
R  a manual lift rod. The air-stop drain valves prevent leakage of the cabin 
R  air through the drain pipes.

R  For the FWD Cargo Compartment 
R  The NORMAL 1 busbar 110XP-A supplies 115 V AC to the air-stop drain valve 
R  heater elements. 
R  The NORMAL 1 busbar 110XP-B supplies 115 V AC to the drain mast and drain 
R  pipe heater elements. The control unit of the heater elements is supplied 
R  with 28 V DC from the GND/FLT busbar 602PP.

R  For the AFT Cargo Compartment 
R  The GND/FLT busbar 212XP-A supplies 115 V AC to the air-stop drain valve, 
R  the drain mast and the drain pipe heater elements. The control unit of the 
R  heater elements is supplied with 28 V DC from the GND/FLT busbar 602PP.

R  5. Operation_________
 The rain water and spilt liquids that may have collected in the cargo
 compartments, flow out through the outlet points. From the outlet points,
 the liquid moves through the sleeves, elbows and the flexible hoses into the
 tee. The tee lets the liquid out into the fuselage lower shell where the
 collected liquid is let out of the aircraft.

R  The rain water and spilt liquids that may have collected in the cargo 
R  compartments flow out through the outlet points. From the outlet points the 
R  liquid moves through the drain funnels and drain pipes into the inlet port 
R  of the air-stop valve. The air-stop valve opens automatically when a 
R  sufficient amount of liquid has collected in the valve. This prevents a 
R  continuous leakage of cabin air. From the air-stop valve the liquid moves to 
R  the drain mast.The drain mast lets the liquid out of the aircraft. The 
R  liquid flows to the drain mast through gravity when the aircraft is on the 
R  ground. Differential pressure makes the fluid flow to the drain mast during 
R  flight.
