B. Procedure

(1) Do these steps to make sure the shoulder harnesses operate correctly:
(a)
Pull the shoulder harness out approximately half way.
(b)
Pull suddenly on the shoulder harness.
1) Make sure the shoulder harness locks and does not extend the full length of the strap.
(c)
Release the shoulder harness. 1) Make sure the shoulder harness retracts.

PASSENGER CABIN FLOOR COVERING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. Carpets (Fig. 1)_______
A. Carpets and underlay pads cover the cabin floor between sidewalls and in the passenger seating area. Padding on the carpet underside is for soundproofing the passenger cabin. Carpet segments are also installed on carpet riser panels along the lower sidewalls.
B. The carpet edges and ends are retained by double-backed tape. Thresholds retain the carpets at ends adjacent to the forward and aft service areas.
C. Extruded plastic seat track covers are snapped into all exposed seat tracks except at seat leg structure attachments.
2. Entry and Service Area Mats (Fig. 1)___________________________
A. Floors in the entry and galley areas of the forward and aft sections of the passenger cabin are covered with vinyl mats.
B. In the galley areas, entry ways and under lavatories, a liquid barrier is installed to prevent floor structural damage from corrosive fluid spills.
C. Drains located in the entry and galley areas provide drainage overboard for water and other liquids introduced by weather or spillage.

B. You can move the carpet into a roll for the storage. It must be moved with the pile out to prevent damage to the rear of the carpet.

Remove the track covers if it is necessary.

(2)
Pull the carpet edges away from the doubleback tape on the cabin floor and the velcro tape , if installed.

(3)
Remove the section of the carpet.
NOTE: In the areas where the viewer or access panels installed
____ in the floor, the carpet sections identified with the push-stud fasteners.
