AFT LAVATORY DOOR AND HEADER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the Aft Lavatory Door and Header.
(2)
The installation of the Aft Lavatory Door and Header.

2. Aft Lavatory Door and Header - Removal (Fig. 401)______________________________________

C. Procedure
S 034-003
(1)
Remove the ceiling panel (Ref 25-41-19/401).
S 024-005
(2)
Open the door and remove the screws that attach the door hinge to the entryway partition of the control cabin.
S 024-012
(3)
Remove the door.
S 024-006
(4)
Remove the screws that attach the splice plates to the forward and aft panels and remove the header.
S 024-004
(5)
If you will replace the header, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the support brackets of the ceiling panel.
(b)
Remove the splice plates.
(c)
Retain the support brackets and the splice plates for later use.

C. Procedure
S 424-007
(1)
Put the header into its position and loosely install the screws in the splice plate to attach to the forward and aft panels.
S 434-008
(2)
Temporarily install the ceiling panel to make sure the location of the header is correct.
S 424-009
(3)
Tighten the header forward and aft attachment screws.
S 424-010
(4)
Put the door into its position and install the screws to attach the hinge to the aft edge of the entryway partition.
(5)
Install the ceiling panel (Ref 25-41-19/401).
