Examine the installation of the window assembly and do the
adjustments for these conditions:
NOTE: More than one adjustment to the latch and the top

attach-angle could be necessary.
(a)
The window assembly is not easy to latch (high force necessary): 1) Loosen the top attach-angle fasteners and move inboard
until you remove the clearance.
(b)
The clearance around the top part of the trim ring or at the top corners of the trim ring: 1) Loosen the top attach-angle fasteners and move inboard
until you remove the clearance. 2) If step 1) does not remove the clearance, adjust the latch outboard approximately 0.05 inch and do step 1) again.
(c)
The clearance around the lower part of the trim ring or a light force is necessary to latch: 1) Loosen the latch fastener and move the latch outboard until
you remove the clearance.
(d)
The clearance is not the same on the side or too much latch force is necessary: 1) Adjust the latch and the top attach-angle parallel to the
window opening.

6. Install and Adjust Window Shade and Reveal Assembly (View A-A, Fig. 201)

(1) Location Zones

NOTE: The window shade is installed with the window shade and reveal

assembly.

(1) Put the support ring on the reveal tab.
(a) Partially lift the window shade and put it into the sheath opening when you install the window shade and reveal assembly.
NOTE: The corners of the flanges must be adjacent to the
____ bracket tongue in the top corners of the panel opening.

(2) Hold the top part of the window shade and reveal assembly while you apply force in the up direction.
(a) Turn the window shade and reveal assembly into the correct position.
NOTE: When the latch clicks, the window shade and reveal
____ assembly is installed.

(3)
Gradually push on the lower corners of the window shade and reveal assembly until it is installed flat around the window opening in the panel assembly.
(4)
Release the seal support ring.

Remove hatch from airplane (AMM 52-21-00/401).

Remove the eight screws which attach the hatch panel to the hatch (AMM 52-21-00/401).

Release the shade from the hatch panel by pushing up on the catch holding the flat end of the shade.

Remove the shade by sliding the shade from the hatch panel.
