Put the seat in its position.

Open the storage compartment door below the seat and install the mounting bolts and washers.

Do these steps to open the lower seat back:
(a)
Open the seat pan a small distance.
(b)
Open the fabric flap that is between the lower seat back and the upper seat back. To open it, pull it away from the upper seat back. It is attached with hook and loop fasteners (Velcro).
(c)
Push the two latches on the lower seat back toward the center of the seat back.
(d)
Pull the seat back out and down.

Install the mounting bolts and washers that go behind the lower seat back.
(5)
Close the lower seat back.

Attach the inertia reel bracket of the seat belt to the wall with its bolts and washers.

C. Procedure

(1) Examine the attachments bolts on the seat link handle.
(a) If the bolt is loose, tighten it. 1) Examine the end play of the spacer between the link handle and the attachment angle.
2) If the end play is more than 0.04 inch, replace the attachment bolt and the worn parts.

(2) Push the seat to the fully down position and release it.
NOTE: The seat must move quickly back into the retracted
____
position without aid.

(3) If the seat does not fully retract into its position, do this step:
(a) Clean and lubricate the track and the roller.
1) Apply a small quantity of the aerosol degreasing fluid with a spray gun. a) Clean the roller and the internal surface of the track.
2) Rub with BMS 3-24 to lubricate the internal surface of the track.
