 8. Latch Cable Assembly Inspection
________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  Airplanes with worn cable on the latch assembly of the escape slide can break and prevent the automatic deployment of the escape slide. If the escape slide does not deploy, the escape slide girt will twist and prevent the movement of the door to a fully opened position. With the door in this position, manual inflation of the escape slide is not possible. The girt of a non deployed escape slide will also prevent any exit through that door until the door is closed and armed girt bar is released.
