 EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  The emergency equipment installed on the airplane is as follows:
 (1)  
Escape Straps

 (2)  
Door-Mounted Escape Slides

 (3)  
Overwater Survival Equipment

 (4)  
Miscellaneous Emergency Equipment.


 2.  Escape Straps/Lanyards______________________
 A.  Escape lanyards (or straps) are installed in the control cabin above the Captain's and the First Officer's sliding windows.
 B.  An escape strap is installed above a hatch on each side of the airplane.
 C.  Refer to 25-61-10 for a description of the escape straps and lanyards.
 3.  Escape Slides_____________
 A.  There is an escape slide for each door on the airplane.
 B.  The escape slide is attached to the bottom inboard side of the door.
 4.  Overwater Survival Equipment____________________________
 A.  Life rafts
 (1)  Life rafts can be located in these locations:
 (a)  the 60-inch overhead stowage bins in the constant section of the airplane.
 B.  Life Vests
 (1)  Life vests or provisions are in these locations:
 (a)  
Control cabin

 (b)  
Attendents stations

 (c)  
Passenger compartment


 C.  Emergency Signalling Equipment
 (1) Emergency locator transmitters (ELT) can be on the airplane.

 5.  Miscellaneous Emergency Equipment

 A.  Miscellaneous emergency equipment is installed in the flight compartment and the passenger compartment.
 B.  This emergency equipment can be removed from the airplane.
 C.  Some or all of this emergency equipment is installed:

Smoke hoods

 ESCAPE STRAPS AND LANYARDS - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  An escape strap is installed in the doorway structure above each
 emergency exit hatch.

 B.  The escape strap is kept in a stowage tube installed in the ceiling of the passenger compartment. One end of the strap is attached to the doorway structure of the emergency exit hatch. In an emergency, the hook end of the strap is attached to the fitting on the wing. The escape strap is used to help passengers on the wing.
 C.  An escape lanyard is installed in the control cabin above the captain's seat, and above the first officer's seat.
 D.  One end of the escape lanyard is attached to the airplane structure.
 E.  This procedure contains these tasks:
