 (3)  Apply the adhesive to the surfaces of the damaged area and repair with a patch.
 (a)  An alternative procedure for the blanket and cap strip assemblies, 1) You can use a patch of the tape (OT-5, OT-6, or OT-7 Orcon)
 to repair the damaged (BMS 8-142) cover material.

Remove the damaged insulation blanket (Ref 25-21-39/401).

Prepare the New Insulation Blanket

 (a)  
Use the damaged blanket as an example to make a paper template.

 (b)  
Cut thermal-acoustical fiberglass insulation to the same shape as the template. 1) Use the same quantity and thickness of the layers as the

 


 damaged blanket.

Install the fiberglass insulation layers between the inboard
 and outboard fabric covers.
 1) When a fabric cover has a different surfaces,

 a) Install the cover to have the same surface to the
 fiberglass as the damaged blanket.If the damaged blanket contained the lead layer fabric, 1) Put a sheet of this material between the same insulation
 layers as the damaged blanket.
 NOTE: The lead layer fabric must have an 0.25-inch
____ diameter air holes. The blankets less than 12 inches in width must have one air hole through the lead layer fabric for each 10-inch length. The blankets more than 12 inches in width must have two air holes for each 10-inch length.
Cut the fabric cover and the lead layer fabric, if installed.
If it is necessary, attach the blanket edges (with staple) to
