4. Insulation (Fig. 1)

A. Fiberglass insulation blankets between the linings and fuselage skin, thermally and acoustically insulate the passenger compartment. The blankets have a waterproof covering and are installed in a shingled configuration to prevent condensation from leaking into the compartment.
B. Snaps, tape, and stitching secure the blankets to the fuselage and attach overlapping blankets.

INNER WINDOW AND SHADE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the Inner Window and Shade (Hole in the Trim Ring)
(2)
The removal of the Window Shade and Reveal Assembly (Without Hole in the Trim Ring)
(3)
The installation of the Down-Closing Inner Window and Shade
(4)
The installation of the Up-Closing Inner Window and Shade
(5)
The adjustment of the Window Assembly
(6)
The removal of the Overwing Emergency Exit Hatch Window Shade.
(7)
The installation of the Overwing Emergency Exit Hatch Window Shade.

2. Inner Window and Shade - Removal (Fig. 201)________________________________
A. Access
(1) Location Zone
100 Upper Half of Fuselage
B. Remove Inner Window and Shade (With Hole in the Trim Ring)
S 022-002
(1)
Do not open the shade fully (View A or C, Fig. 201).
S 022-003
(2)
Put a 1/16-inch diameter pin into the hole in the trim ring.
S 022-004
(3)
Push the pin until the latch releases.
S 022-005
(4)
Pull the pin and the window assembly inboard away from the latch.
S 022-006
(5)
Remove the pin and close the shade.
S 022-007
(6)
On the window with the down-closing shade,
(a)
Pull the window assembly down and inboard from the window opening.
(b)
Open the top of the reveal and the trim ring sufficient to pull the shade handle from the assembly.
(c)
Remove the shade through the top of the assembly.
S 022-031
(7) On the window with the up-closing shade,
(a)
Lift the window assembly inboard from the window opening.
(b)
Open the bottom of the reveal and the trim ring sufficiently to be clear from the shade handle.
(c)
Remove the shade through the bottom of the assembly.
