(1) To install the escape strap, do these steps:
(a) Attach the anchor fitting with bolts.

Make sure the spacer is in the correct position.
(c)
On hatches with the stowage tube at the forward edge, fold the escape strap into six lengths.
(d)
On hatches with the stowage tube at the aft edge, fold the escape strap into four lengths.
(e)
Wind aluminum tape two to four times around the strap (Detail B).
(f)
Put the escape strap into the stowage tube.
(g)
Put the hook in the hook retainer.
(h)
Install the emergency exit hatch (AMM 52-21-00/401).
