Put the new filter element (2) momentarily into OILS (Material No. 03-002).

Install the filter element (2) into the filter housing (4).

Install the filter housing (4) with the assembled items and tighten by hand.
(8)
Connect the electrical connector (5) to the differential pressure switch.
(9)
Safety the filter housing (4) with lockwire-corrosion resistant steel

C. Inspection Check of the old Alternator Scavenge Filter Element.
(1) Make an inspection of the filter element (2) and the filter housing
(4) for the following contamination:
NOTE : Brass or silver-plated steel particles indicate possible
____ bearing failure. Copper wire particles, nonmetallic flakes and phenolic resin indicate possible AC generator failure.
-brass flakes or strips,
-silver-plated steel flakes or strips,
-large metallic flakes,
-copper wire particles,
-large nonmetallic flakes,
-phenolic resin.
(2) If any of the described debris is found, following procedure is necessary:
(a)
Remove the APU Generator (Ref. TASK 24-23-51-000-001).
(b)
Install a generator cover palte (Ref. TASK 49-11-00-400-002).
(c)
Start and operate the APU.
(d)
Examine the new installed Alternator Scanvenge Filter Element (2) and the Lube Pump Filter for metal particles or other unwanted particles.
1_ Close the APU access doors (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
2_ Start the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003).
3_ Allows the APU to run 15 minutes.
4_ Shutdown the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).
5_ Open the APU access doors (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
1 If after 15 minutes of operation none particles are found in
_ the filter:
NOTE : The APU is servicable.

a Remove the cover plate (Ref. TASK 49-11-00-000-002).

b Install a new APU generator (Ref. TASK 24-23-51-400-001).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.

E. Start and operate the APU.

Close the APU access doors (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(2)
Start the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003).
(3)
Allows the APU to run 5 minutes.
(4)
Shutdown the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).
(5)
Open the APU access doors 315AL, 136AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(6)
Do a leak check on the oil filter housing (4).
NOTE : No leakage is permitted.

Do a visual check of the oil quantity in the APU. Add oil if the oil level is on or less than the ADD mark on the sight glass (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-001).

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Set the LIGHT SW 11LJ to the OFF position.
(3)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(4)
Close the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(5)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-91-41-860-059

Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2)
De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).
